It’s a Fusion x Westie Crossover! Join us for a night of double the dancing as we bring two amazing local monthly social dances together for one night! Whether you're new to dancing (of any kind!), a resident fusion dancer, or a seasoned westie, this night is for everyone!
📅 When: Friday, June 20th, 8:00 PM - 12:00 AM
📍 Where: Concierge Ballroom (30 S 7th St, Philadelphia, PA 19106)
🧑🏫 Lessons @ 8PM - Intro to Westie + Fusion OR Special Topics with Greg & Laurie
(Both lessons will be run at the same time and are included in the admission price!)
We’ll be kicking off the evening with two very special lessons, one catered to beginners with little to no experience in either Fusion dancing or West Coast Swing. We’ll teach you the basics and everything you need to know to get you ready to enjoy the rest of the night!
For those with more experience in either (or both!) dance styles, we’ve got a special lesson planned for you by our guest teachers who specialize in both Fusion and West Coast Swing! More details on that coming soon!
👯 Social Dancing @ 9PM until Midnight with some of the region's best DJs.
Come for the lesson, stay for the dance! Expect an amazing atmosphere, great music, and a welcoming community.
We’ll have 2 active social dance floors for you to explore with specially catered music by our DJ’s designed to keep the energy flowing and moving through classic west coast swing hits and the creative mixes of Fusion music throughout the night!
🎟️ Admission: $20-$30 (sliding scale) - Cash or Venmo accepted at the door.
There’s a bit of an upcharge because we’re hosting two dances in one, which means offering double the space, and providing double the fun! But if finances prevent you from attending, please reach out to our page or an organizer and we will find a way to support!

⭐ So you think you have two left feet?
We got you! Come join our complimentary beginner lesson from 8pm-9pm. We'll show you which is your right foot!!
⭐ Need some hydration?
Social dancing is BYOB. You bring your elixir to stay "hydrated" and we'll provide the source of life... water
⭐ Gender identity and dance roles
As de-gendered dance forms, anyone regardless of gender identity is welcome to lead, follow, or switch! A number of us do both roles and it's twice the fun! As such, it's totally ok to dance with someone of the same gender - the only rule is: one leads and the other follows!
⭐ Should I bring my entourage?
Come by yourself or with your peeps! Both west coast swing and fusion are social dances so you'll make friends regardless if you show up solo or with your crew!
⭐ What should I wear?
Wear whatever you are comfortable moving in. Closed-toed shoes are preferred just in case you get stepped on! (this is partner dancing after all) Additionally, non-grippy shoes can be helpful for spinning and moving on the floor!
⭐ Friendly Reminders as the weather gets warmer!
- Please stay hydrated and bring a spare change of clothes - especially if you sweat!
- We will have fans and air conditioning on throughout the night but dancing is a physical activity that gets warm! Make sure to stay in tune with your own body and safety
🕺 What is West Coast Swing?
West Coast Swing, also known as Modern Swing, is a super fun, super addictive form of partner dance. Originating in the 50s, west coast swing is characterized by its elastic, groovy, swanky vibe and dance partners play off of each other's creativity and improvisation with the music. It can be danced to a huge variety of music including pop, hip-hop, blues, instrumental, urban, etc.
To get a sense of what West Coast Swing looks like, here are some clips by current world champions (look how much fun they had while improvising with their dance partners and with the music!):
